How to do it
Sit on a Bosu ball and walk your feet out so your lower back curves over the dome. Place your hands lightly by your head and crunch up by drawing your rib cage toward your pelvis, using the dome for a deeper stretch at the bottom. Lower under control until you feel the abs lengthen over the ball.
- 1A strong contraction through the entire abdominal wall
- 2The extra stretch the dome adds at the bottom
- 3The crunch coming from the abs, not the neck or arms
Common mistakes
- Pulling on the head and neck with the hands
- Using the hip flexors to yank yourself up
- Jerky reps or bouncing off the ball
Muscles worked
The on bosu ball crunch mainly works the upper abs and lower abs, with the obliques assisting.
