How to do it

Jump in place on the balls of your feet, crossing one foot in front of the other on one hop, then uncrossing on the next, switching the lead foot each cycle. Keep a light bounce and let your arms stay relaxed as you find the rhythm.

  1. 1Your calves driving quick, light hops as you cross and uncross your feet
  2. 2A soft knee bend absorbing each landing
  3. 3A steady rhythm and coordination as you keep the cardio pace up

Common mistakes

  • Do not jump too high or land heavily; keep the hops small and light
  • Do not let your feet tangle; time the crossovers carefully
  • Do not stiffen your knees; stay springy through each contact
