How to do it

Sit in the Hammer Strength chest press with handles aligned around mid-chest. Set your shoulder blades back and down, then press the handles forward until your elbows are almost straight. Return under control to the start position without letting your shoulders roll forward.

  1. 1Feel your chest and triceps pressing the handles away in a fixed path
  2. 2Keep your shoulder blades retracted and maintain tension in your pecs
  3. 3Press through full range and squeeze at the peak

Common mistakes

  • Avoid locking your elbows out forcefully; finish with control
  • Don't let your shoulders roll forward; keep chest open
  • Avoid using too much weight that forces you to arch your back
