How to do it

Stand in front of a chair with feet hip-width apart. Sit back into a shallow squat until you tap the seat, stand back up, then rock up onto the balls of your feet and squeeze your calves before lowering your heels.

  1. 1Feel your calves squeeze as you rock up onto your toes
  2. 2Drive through your heels to stand out of the squat
  3. 3Keep your chest up and weight balanced through each rock

Common mistakes

  • Do not bounce off the chair at the bottom of the squat
  • Avoid letting your knees cave inward as you stand
  • Do not rush the calf rock; pause and squeeze at the top
