How to do it

Sit on the floor with one leg extended and loop a battle rope or band around the ball of that foot. Hold both ends and gently pull the foot back toward you while keeping the knee straight, until you feel a stretch through the calf. Hold and breathe, then switch sides.

  1. 1Feel a stretch along your calf and Achilles as you draw the foot back
  2. 2Keep the knee straight to target the upper calf
  3. 3Pull gently and let the tension release as you hold

Common mistakes

  • Do not yank the rope or bounce the foot
  • Avoid rounding your back to reach further
