How to do it

Stand tall with feet hip width and press up onto the balls of both feet as high as you can, clapping your hands overhead at the top. Lower your heels under control and repeat in a steady rhythm.

  1. 1Feel your calves contracting hard as you press up onto your toes
  2. 2Reach as high as possible at the top before clapping overhead
  3. 3Lower your heels slowly to feel a stretch through the calf

Common mistakes

  • Do not bounce off the bottom; control the lowering each rep
  • Avoid rolling onto the sides of your feet; stay over the balls
  • Do not lock your knees hard; keep a soft bend in the legs
