How to do it
Attach a rope or bar to a low cable pulley and kneel or sit on the floor facing the stack. Grip the attachment and pin your elbows tight to your sides. Keeping your upper arms locked in place, extend your forearms down and away until your arms are straight, then bend back up under control. Working from the floor takes your legs out of it and isolates the triceps.
- 1Feel your triceps contract as you straighten your arms
- 2Keep your elbows pinned to your sides the whole time
- 3Squeeze at lockout and control the return
Common mistakes
- Don't let your elbows drift forward or flare out
- Avoid using your shoulders or body to push the weight
- Don't cut the range short; fully straighten then fully bend
