How to do it

Set two cable pulleys high and cross the cables so each hand grabs the opposite-side handle in front of your chest. Stand tall and extend both arms down and across your body, locking out your triceps, then return under control to the start.

  1. 1Feel your triceps drive the cables down and across to lockout
  2. 2Keep your elbows tucked and pointing forward, not flaring
  3. 3Hold your torso still so only your forearms move

Common mistakes

  • Don't let your upper arms drift up or out as you press
  • Avoid leaning forward to push the cables with your bodyweight
  • Don't cut the range short; reach a full lockout each rep
