How to do it

Set a cable to the top of the column and attach a single handle. Grip it with one hand, keep your elbow pinned to your side, and push the handle down until your arm is fully straight. Let it rise back to elbow height under control, then repeat and switch arms.

  1. 1Feel your triceps contract as you straighten the working arm
  2. 2Keep your elbow locked against your side throughout
  3. 3Control the return so tension stays on the triceps

Common mistakes

  • Do not let your elbow drift forward or flare out
  • Avoid leaning your body into the handle to push it down
  • Do not let your wrist bend; keep it firm and neutral
