How to do it
Sit at a low cable row station with feet braced and knees slightly bent. Grasp the handle, sit tall, and pull it toward your lower abdomen while keeping your back straight. Return slowly to a full stretch without letting the weight pull you forward.
- 1Lats and mid-back doing the work as you pull to your torso
- 2Shoulder blades retracting as your elbows drive back
- 3Constant tension as you control the return
Common mistakes
- Leaning back excessively or rowing with your torso for momentum
- Shrugging your shoulders or rounding your back
- Letting the weight yank you forward at the stretch
Muscles worked
The cable low seated row mainly works the lats and mid traps, with the biceps, forearms, and rear delts assisting.
