How to do it
Set a pulley to about head height with a straight or rope attachment and step back into a slight forward lean with your arms angled up. Keeping your elbows fixed, push the attachment down and away until your arms are straight, squeezing your lats, then return under control.
- 1Feel your lats and triceps drive the attachment down
- 2Keep your elbows close and your torso braced
- 3Squeeze your lats at the bottom of each rep
Common mistakes
- Don't round your back or bend at the waist to push
- Avoid shrugging your shoulders up toward your ears
- Don't let the cable pull your arms up too quickly
Muscles worked
