How to do it
Set a cable to the top of the column and attach a rope. Face away from the stack, grip the rope, and bring your hands behind your head with elbows bent and pointing up. Extend your arms forward and overhead until straight, then return under control.
- 1Feel a deep stretch in the long head of your triceps at the bottom
- 2Keep your upper arms fixed and pointing forward as you extend
- 3Squeeze your triceps hard at full lockout
Common mistakes
- Do not let your elbows flare wide or drop as you extend
- Avoid arching your lower back to push the weight
- Do not let the cable yank your arms back at the bottom; stay controlled
