How to do it
Set a straight bar on a low cable pulley and grip it with an underhand grip, palms facing up. Hinge at the hips with a flat back and let the cable pull your arms forward, then row the bar toward your lower torso by driving your elbows back close to your sides. Lower under control to a full stretch and keep your core braced throughout.
- 1Lats and lower back contracting as you pull the bar to your waist
- 2Elbows driving back tight to your sides with the underhand grip
- 3Shoulder blades squeezing together at the top
Common mistakes
- Rounding your back instead of hinging at the hips
- Shrugging or using only your arms to pull
- Letting the cable yank you forward at the bottom
