How to do it
Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor about hip-width apart, with a resistance band looped just above your knees. Press your feet down and lift your hips toward the ceiling while pushing your knees gently out against the band, opening across your hips and chest. Hold and breathe steadily, feeling a stretch through the front of your hips and a squeeze in your glutes.
- 1Feel the front of your hips and chest open as you lift
- 2Squeeze your glutes and press your knees out against the band
- 3Keep your breath slow and steady in the hold
Common mistakes
- Don't let your knees collapse inward against the band
- Don't overarch or strain your lower back
- Don't push into your neck; keep weight on your shoulders
