How to do it

Walk forward slowly, and with each step rise up onto the ball of the planted foot, lifting your heel as high as you can. Pause briefly at the top, then lower and step into the next rep. Continue alternating, raising onto your toes with every stride.

  1. 1A strong contraction in your calf at the top of each step
  2. 2A full rise onto the ball of your foot
  3. 3Balance held over the planted leg as you raise

Common mistakes

  • Bouncing through the steps instead of pausing at the top
  • Rolling onto the side of your foot as you rise
  • Cutting the range short and not fully lifting the heel
