How to do it

Drop into a bodyweight squat with feet wider than shoulder width and stay low in an athletic stance. Holding that squat depth, shuffle sideways by stepping with the lead foot and bringing the trail foot to meet it. Keep your chest up and hips down, and shuffle both directions to work each side.

  1. 1Constant tension in the glutes and quads from staying low
  2. 2Hips back and chest up holding the squat through each step
  3. 3Power pushing off the trail leg to move you sideways

Common mistakes

  • Do not stand up tall between steps; stay in the squat
  • Avoid letting the knees cave inward as you shuffle
  • Do not cross the feet over each other
