How to do it
Grip both sides of a sturdy doorway frame and walk your feet forward so your body leans back at an angle with arms extended. Pull your chest toward the frame by driving your elbows back and squeezing your shoulder blades together, then lower under control. Keep your body in a straight line throughout.
- 1Feel your lats and mid-back pull your chest toward the frame
- 2Squeeze your shoulder blades together at the top
- 3Keep your body in a straight plank line
Common mistakes
- Avoid shrugging your shoulders or flaring your elbows
- Don't let your hips sag; hold the plank line
- Avoid using momentum; control both phases
