How to do it
Anchor a resistance band low behind an incline bench and lie back on it holding the band overhead with arms extended. Keeping your upper arms still, bend at the elbows to lower your hands toward your forehead, then extend back up against the band. Only the forearms move.
- 1Your triceps stretching and contracting through the full range
- 2Your upper arms locked in place, only the elbows bending
- 3Band tension peaking as you lock out at the top
Common mistakes
- Letting your elbows flare out wide
- Moving your upper arms or shoulders to help
- Letting the band snap your arms back instead of controlling it
Muscles worked
The band incline triceps extension mainly works the triceps, with the forearms assisting.
