How to do it

Stand tall and swing both arms open wide to stretch across the chest, then swing them forward and wrap them around your torso so your hands slap your upper back. Repeat in a rhythmic, flowing motion to open the chest and upper back.

  1. 1A stretch across the chest as the arms swing open
  2. 2The upper back and shoulder blades spreading as the arms wrap
  3. 3A loose, rhythmic swing that warms the shoulders

Common mistakes

  • Swinging so hard you yank the shoulder joints
  • Hunching the upper back instead of staying tall
  • Holding the breath; keep it flowing and relaxed
