How to do it

Move into the stretch position slowly until you feel a gentle pull on the target muscle. Hold the stretch while breathing deeply, avoiding any bouncing or pain.

  1. 1Feel a deep stretch through your hips, hamstrings, and thoracic spine as you reach and rotate
  2. 2Engage your core to stabilize as you twist toward the front leg
  3. 3Open your chest and breathe into the rotation

Common mistakes

  • Avoid rounding your back; keep it long and neutral
  • Don't force the twist; rotate within your comfortable range
  • Avoid letting your knee collapse inward; keep it over your toes
