How to do it
Move into the stretch position slowly until you feel a gentle pull on the target muscle. Hold the stretch while breathing deeply, avoiding any bouncing or pain.
- 1Feel a deep stretch through your hips, hamstrings, and thoracic spine as you reach and rotate
- 2Engage your core to stabilize as you twist toward the front leg
- 3Open your chest and breathe into the rotation
Common mistakes
- Avoid rounding your back; keep it long and neutral
- Don't force the twist; rotate within your comfortable range
- Avoid letting your knee collapse inward; keep it over your toes
