How to do it
Stand with your feet set wide and hinge slightly at the hips, resting one hand on a knee or reaching it toward the floor. Rotate your torso open and sweep the other arm up toward the ceiling, following the hand with your eyes. Return under control and repeat, then switch sides.
- 1Rotation coming from your mid-back as your chest opens
- 2Your obliques working to drive and control the twist
- 3A wide, stable base through your legs as you turn
Common mistakes
- Do not rotate from your lower back instead of your mid-back
- Avoid rushing; control the open and the return
- Do not round your spine as you hinge
