How to do it

Set up in a forearm or high plank with your feet wider than your hips. Keeping your hips level, tap one hand out to the side and bring it back, then alternate hands without rocking your torso. Hold a tight plank the whole time.

  1. 1Your obliques and deep core resisting rotation as you tap
  2. 2Your hips staying square and level, not twisting toward the moving hand
  3. 3Your shoulders bracing to hold the plank on the support arm

Common mistakes

  • Letting your hips sag or pike up out of plank
  • Rocking or twisting your torso as you reach
  • Holding your breath; keep breathing through the taps
