How to do it
Hold a sandbag or weighted bag across your chest or shoulders and stand tall with feet hip-width apart. Step forward into a lunge, lowering until both knees bend near 90 degrees and your back knee hovers above the floor. Drive through your front heel to step directly into the next lunge, keeping your torso upright and core braced under the load.
- 1Front quad and glute driving you up out of each lunge
- 2Core working to keep the bag stable and your torso tall
- 3A steady rhythm as you alternate legs and stay balanced
Common mistakes
- Letting your front knee cave inward or shoot far past your toes
- Leaning forward or rounding your back under the bag
- Taking steps so short or long that your balance breaks down
Muscles worked
