How to do it
Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and hold a weighted bag with both hands in front of you. Swing the bag across your body from hip to opposite shoulder, rotating through your trunk and pivoting the back foot. Control it back down and alternate across both sides.
- 1Feel your obliques drive the rotation as the bag swings across
- 2Pivot the trailing foot and let the hips lead the twist
- 3Brace your midsection to control the bag at the top of each swing
Common mistakes
- Do not rotate only with your arms and leave the hips locked
- Avoid rounding or yanking through your lower back
- Do not let the bag pull you off balance; stay controlled
