How to do it
Anchor a resistance band at chest height and stand sideways to it, holding the handle with both hands and arms extended. Rotate your torso away from the anchor, pulling the band across your body, then return with control and repeat before switching sides.
- 1Your obliques generating the rotation away from the anchor
- 2Your hips staying square and facing forward
- 3Tension through your core as you control the band back
Common mistakes
- Rotating your hips or knees instead of your torso
- Whipping the band around with your arms
- Jerking or over-rotating past a comfortable range
Muscles worked
The resistance band twist mainly works the obliques, upper abs, and lower abs, with the lats, quads, glutes, hamstrings, and side delts assisting.
