How to do it
Stand tall and shift your weight onto one foot. Place the sole of your other foot against your inner thigh or calf (avoid the knee). Bring your hands together at your chest or extend them overhead. Hold while engaging your core and maintaining balance.
- 1Stand on one leg and place the sole of your other foot against your inner thigh or calf; you should feel your standing leg's glutes and foot muscles working to balance you
- 2Press your foot into your leg and your leg into your foot, engaging your inner thighs
- 3Reach your hands overhead or keep them at your heart, lengthening your spine and focusing on steady breath
Common mistakes
- Don't place your foot on your knee joint, keep it above or below
- Avoid locking your standing knee; maintain a soft micro-bend
- Don't lean to one side or grip your toes into the floor; stay centered and calm
