How to do it
Walk forward in a straight line, placing one foot directly in front of the other heel-to-toe as if balancing on a tightrope. Hold your arms out to the sides for balance and keep your gaze ahead. Move slowly and deliberately, controlling each step.
- 1Feel your ankles and feet working to keep you balanced on the line
- 2Engage your glutes and core to stay tall and steady
- 3Keep each step slow and controlled as you place foot to foot
Common mistakes
- Avoid rushing or letting your steps drift off the line
- Do not look down; keep your eyes ahead to hold balance
- Avoid stiffening up; stay relaxed through the hips and shoulders
