How to do it
Loop a resistance band behind your knee and step back to create tension. Straighten the knee against band resistance, focusing on the last 30 degrees of extension.
- 1Focus on fully extending the knee against the band resistance
- 2You should feel your VMO (inner quad) engage strongly at full lockout
- 3Keep your hips level and core braced for balance
Common mistakes
- Don't hyperextend the knee past neutral
- Avoid using momentum; the movement should be slow and controlled
- Don't let the band pull your knee inward
