How to do it
Lie on your back and lift your legs into a tabletop position with knees stacked over hips and shins parallel to the floor. Reach both arms overhead, then crunch up as you bring your hands toward your knees, squeezing the abs at the top. Lower with control without letting your legs drift out of position.
- 1Your upper abs crunching your shoulders off the floor
- 2Your lower abs holding the tabletop legs in place
- 3A hard squeeze at the top of each crunch
Common mistakes
- Letting your knees drift past your hips
- Pulling on your neck with your hands
- Yanking up with momentum instead of crunching
Muscles worked
The tabletop reach and crunch mainly works the upper abs and lower abs, with the hip flexors and obliques assisting.
