How to do it

Stand tall with your feet shoulder-width apart and arms relaxed at your sides. Let your arms swing freely as you rotate your torso side to side, allowing your hips and feet to pivot naturally with each turn. Keep the motion loose and rhythmic to warm up the spine and shoulders.

  1. 1Feel your spine rotate freely through the mid-back
  2. 2Let your arms swing with momentum, not muscle
  3. 3Pivot through the hips and ankles to follow the twist

Common mistakes

  • Do not force the rotation past a comfortable range
  • Avoid keeping your feet planted and grinding the lower back
  • Do not hold tension in your shoulders or arms
