How to do it

Stand tall with feet shoulder-width apart and a stick resting across your shoulders behind your neck, hands draped over each end. Brace your core and rotate your torso smoothly from side to side, keeping your hips facing forward.

  1. 1Feel your obliques rotate the rib cage over steady hips
  2. 2Keep your core braced so the twist stays controlled
  3. 3Move from the trunk, not by swinging the arms

Common mistakes

  • Avoid whipping the stick around with momentum
  • Do not let your hips and knees twist with your torso
  • Avoid forcing the rotation past a comfortable end range
