How to do it
Stand in front of a sturdy chair. Place one foot firmly on the seat and drive through that heel to lift your body up until the standing leg is straight. Step down carefully under control and repeat on the other leg.
- 1Plant your lead foot on the chair and drive through the heel so you feel
- 2your glutes and quads lifting you up
- 3Keep your torso upright and core engaged to feel balanced and stable
- 4Squeeze your glute at the top and control the descent so the muscles work on the way down too
Common mistakes
- Pushing off hard with the trailing leg or hopping up with momentum
- Letting your knee collapse inward or travel far past your toes
- Leaning forward or arching your back instead of staying upright
