How to do it
Stand tall with feet hip-width apart and hands resting at your sides or behind your head. Slide one hand down the outside of your thigh by bending sideways at the waist, feeling the opposite side contract. Return to upright and repeat to the other side.
- 1Feel the side of your waist contract as you slide down
- 2Feel a stretch on the opposite oblique at the bottom
- 3Keep the movement strictly side to side, not forward
Common mistakes
- Don't lean forward or backward as you bend
- Avoid rushing; control the slide both ways
- Don't let your hips shift far out to the side
