How to do it
Stand tall with feet shoulder-width apart and a soft bend in your knees. Keeping your hips facing forward, slowly rotate your torso to one side, letting your arms swing around naturally. Feel the stretch through your waist and lower back, hold briefly, then rotate to the other side.
- 1A stretch through your waist and obliques as you turn
- 2Your hips staying square while your torso rotates
- 3Your spine moving smoothly through the twist
Common mistakes
- Swinging violently or wrenching the rotation
- Letting your knees and hips spin with you
- Rotating from the lower back instead of the mid-spine
