How to do it

Climb stairs at a steady, moderate pace for an extended period (e.g., 20-30 minutes). Focus on consistent speed and good posture.

  1. 1Step onto each stair driving through your heel so you feel your glutes and quads working
  2. 2Maintain an upright posture and engage your core as your heart rate rises
  3. 3Use your arms for balance and rhythm without leaning on the rail

Common mistakes

  • Don't slouch or lean heavily on the handrails
  • Avoid skipping a proper warm-up, start gradually to let your body adapt
  • Don't take steps too quickly or carelessly; focus on controlled foot placement

Muscles worked

The stair climbing mainly works the quads and glutes, with the hamstrings, calves, and lower back assisting.
