How to do it
Stand with feet about shoulder-width apart and squat down until your thighs reach parallel, keeping your chest up. Drive up to standing, then press your arms overhead and rotate your torso to one side, alternating the twist each rep.
- 1Glutes and quads driving out of the squat
- 2Obliques rotating the torso at the top
- 3A tight core linking the squat and the twist
Common mistakes
- Letting the knees cave in during the squat
- Twisting from the lower back instead of the trunk
- Rushing the rotation and losing balance
