How to do it
Set up in a split stance with your front foot a stride ahead and use a wall beside you for light balance. Lower straight down until the front thigh is parallel, then drive through the front heel to stand.
- 1Front quad and glute loading as you lower straight down
- 2Front heel rooted and chest tall throughout
- 3Light wall touch for balance, not for support
Common mistakes
- Leaning on the wall to take load off the legs
- Letting the front knee cave inward or the heel lift
- Pushing off the back foot instead of the front leg
