How to do it

Set up on a hack squat machine facing the pad, shoulders under the supports and feet centered on the platform. Lower into a squat by bending your knees and hips while keeping your torso against the pad. Drive through your heels to extend back up, emphasizing your glutes and quads through the range.

  1. 1Feel your glutes and quads drive against the platform as you stand
  2. 2Keep your torso braced against the pad and your core tight
  3. 3Push through your heels and extend fully without locking out hard

Common mistakes

  • Do not let your knees cave inward; track them over your toes
  • Do not round your back or let it peel off the pad
  • Do not bounce out of the bottom; control the descent
