How to do it
Sit in the 45-degree sled press with your back flat against the pad and feet placed wide and high on the platform, toes turned slightly out. Unlock the safety bars and lower the sled by bending your knees, then drive through your heels to extend without locking out. The wide stance shifts more work onto your inner thighs and glutes.
- 1Your inner thighs and glutes loading as you sink down
- 2Knees tracking out over your toes, not caving in
- 3A deep, controlled descent and a strong drive up
Common mistakes
- Letting your knees collapse inward under load
- Lifting your hips off the pad at the bottom
- Cutting the depth short to add weight
Muscles worked
The sled 45 leg wide press mainly works the quads and glutes, with the hamstrings, adductors, and calves assisting.
