How to do it
Sit upright on a chair with feet flat on the floor and hands crossed at your chest or behind your head. Brace your core and rotate your torso to one side, then back through center and to the other side, keeping your hips and legs still.
- 1Feel your obliques turn the rib cage over fixed hips
- 2Sit tall and keep the chest lifted through each twist
- 3Move smoothly from the waist, not the arms
Common mistakes
- Avoid letting your hips or knees rotate with you
- Do not slump or round the lower back
- Avoid yanking into the twist with momentum
