How to do it
Sit on the edge of a padded stool with your core braced. Step one foot out to the side, then bring that knee back in and tuck it up toward your chest, crunching slightly as you pull it in. Lower the foot back out and alternate legs each rep.
- 1Your lower abs contracting as the knee tucks in
- 2The hip flexor driving the knee toward your chest
- 3A stable torso as the leg steps out and back
Common mistakes
- Rounding hard through the lower back on the tuck
- Using momentum to swing the knee up
- Leaning so far back you lose balance on the stool
