How to do it
Sit tall with your torso leaned back slightly and feet off or lightly on the floor. Rotate through your waist to tap the opposite hand toward the outside of the opposite hip or foot, then twist to the other side, alternating.
- 1Feel your obliques rotate the torso side to side
- 2Keep your chest lifted as you twist
- 3Control each tap rather than flinging the arm
Common mistakes
- Don't round your back or slump
- Avoid twisting only your arms; rotate from the waist
- Don't rush; keep each rotation deliberate
Muscles worked
The sitting opposite tap mainly works the obliques, with the lower abs, upper abs, and hip flexors assisting.
