How to do it
Sit in a cross-legged lotus position holding your hands together. Rotate and reach diagonally up to one side, then chop down across your body toward the opposite hip, moving through your core. Repeat on both sides.
- 1Obliques driving the diagonal chopping motion
- 2Rotation coming from the trunk, not just the arms
- 3A tall spine anchoring each rep
Common mistakes
- Do not let your hips rock off the floor
- Do not swing the arms without engaging the core
- Do not round the lower back as you chop down
