How to do it
Sit on the floor leaning back slightly on your hands with your legs lifted and extended in front of you. Sweep both legs side to side, then draw your knees in toward your chest and extend them back out for an in-and-out crunch. Keep your core braced and feet off the floor throughout.
- 1Your lower abs working to keep your legs hovering and moving
- 2Your obliques firing as the legs sweep from side to side
- 3A strong crunch through the midsection as the knees tuck in
Common mistakes
- Resting your feet on the floor between reps
- Rounding and straining your lower back as you lean back
- Swinging the legs with momentum instead of controlling them
