How to do it
Sit on the floor and lean back slightly with your legs lifted and extended. Reach one hand across toward the opposite raised foot, lower, then alternate sides. Keep your feet off the floor and your core engaged so each reach comes from a crunch and twist.
- 1Your abs crunching the torso up toward your foot on each reach
- 2Your obliques rotating to bring hand and opposite foot together
- 3Your legs held steady and elevated throughout
Common mistakes
- Dropping your feet to the floor between reaches
- Pulling with your shoulders instead of crunching from the core
- Rounding and straining your lower back as you lean back
Muscles worked
The sitting floor alternating toe touch mainly works the upper abs and obliques, with the lower abs and hip flexors assisting.
