How to do it
Stand facing away at an angle and place your forearm on a wall at shoulder height, stepping your feet out so your body leans into a side plank. Hold a straight line from head to heels, bracing your side, for the set time. Switch sides on the next set.
- 1Feel your obliques on the down side hold the line
- 2Keep your hips lifted and your body in one straight line
- 3Press your forearm into the wall to stay supported
Common mistakes
- Don't let your hips sag toward the wall
- Avoid twisting your torso open or down
- Don't hold your breath; breathe steadily through the hold
