How to do it
Sit tall on a chair with both feet flat and hands resting at your sides or on the seat. Straighten one leg out in front until it is parallel to the floor, squeezing the top of your thigh, then lower it slowly without letting the foot touch down. Keep your torso upright and avoid leaning back.
- 1Squeeze the top of your thigh as the leg straightens out
- 2Keep your torso tall and your core braced for balance
- 3Lower the leg slowly under control to keep the tension
Common mistakes
- Do not lean back to swing the leg up with momentum
- Avoid letting your foot slam back down between reps
- Do not round your lower back or slump in the chair
