How to do it
Sit on the floor and bring the soles of your feet together with your knees dropped out wide in a frog position. Lower your torso back toward the floor, then crunch up partway for a half sit-up, lower again, and crunch all the way up to a full sit-up. Alternate the half and full range, keeping the movement driven by your abs.
- 1The abs contracting hard to curl you up off the floor
- 2Your spine rounding segment by segment as you rise
- 3Even control on the way down, resisting gravity
Common mistakes
- Yanking on your neck to pull yourself up
- Using momentum or bouncing off the floor
- Letting your knees come up instead of staying wide
Muscles worked
