How to do it

Start in a split stance with one foot forward and one back, knees slightly bent. Jump straight up and switch your legs in the air so the back foot lands forward and the front foot lands back. Land softly into the split stance and immediately repeat, alternating legs each jump.

  1. 1Quads and glutes loading and exploding on each jump
  2. 2Soft, absorbed landings through the front leg
  3. 3A balanced, upright torso as you switch midair

Common mistakes

  • Crashing down with stiff, locked legs
  • Letting the front knee cave inward on landing
  • Leaning the chest forward or losing balance between reps

Muscles worked

The scissors jump mainly works the quads and glutes, with the hamstrings, calves, and hip flexors assisting.
