How to do it
Sit on the floor with your knees bent and heels lightly touching the ground or lifted for more challenge. Lean back slightly to engage your core, clasp your hands together in front of your chest, and rotate your torso from side to side, tapping your hands near the floor on each side.
- 1Drive the rotation from your waist so you feel your obliques working on
- 2each twist
- 3Keep your chest tall and your core braced the whole time
- 4Move under control and pause briefly at each side
Common mistakes
- Don't just swing your arms; turn from your torso
- Avoid rounding your back or collapsing your chest
- Don't rush the reps or use momentum to throw yourself side to side
